Springboard Participant/Graduate Information

From 25 September - 1 October 2012 the Employment Services Division of the Department of Social Protection is hosting three recruitment fairs around the country. In the event that you have not yet secured work or are still completing your Springboard qualification we hope that you will be in a position to attend. Employers in growing enterprise sectors who are seeking to fill employment positions will be in attendance at the fairs and will be interested in meeting you.

Employers in ICT companies, Biopharma-pharmachem, Medical Devices, the Green Economy, International Financial Services and Food/Beverage have been invited to attend, and all have also been briefed on Springboard graduates with cross-enterprise skills in areas such as Six Sigma; lean and quality systems; and other in-demand management skills.

Participating employers will have their own stand and access to space for recruitment interviews. In addition, career advice will available for delegates, as well as guidance and advice on social protection queries.

Employer Information

The Springboard team in the Higher Education Authority, in partnership with the Employment Services Division of the Department of Social Protection, is delighted to invite your company to participate in one or more of a series of employer recruitment events for Springboard graduates.

As you will be aware, a key objective for Springboard is to cross-skill or upskill previously-employed or self-employed people to get back to work. All Springboard qualifications are in areas where there are skills needs, including ICT; the Biopharma-Pharmachem industry; Medical Devices; the Green Economy; International Financial Services; Food/Beverage; and in cross-enterprise skills such as Six Sigma and Lean and Quality Systems.

3,500 graduates have just qualified this year with new Springboard qualifications from certificate to post-graduate level (Levels 6-9 on the National Framework of Qualifications). All of the graduates have a previous history of employment, and so have extensive workplace experience. They have made a proactive decision to return to higher education in order to change career direction and get back to employment. Many have completed a relevant recent work placement as part of their Springboard course. Details are available on the number of 2012 graduates in each enterprise area, by course and level.

To assist companies such as yours in accessing this dynamic pipeline of job-ready Springboard graduates, a series of dedicated recruitment fairs are taking place from 25 September to 02 October. All Springboard graduates, as well as those entering a second year of study have been invited to attend. The events are being supported and funded by the Employment Services Division of the Department of Social Protection. The fairs will provide an opportunity to meet and interview potential employees.

Each of the fairs has the capacity to accommodate up to 50 companies with employment positions to fill now and in the coming months. Dedicated space to conduct interviews of Springboard graduates/participants will be provided.
